WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP?
4am, but only for the last couple of months.  Most of the time in my life I’ve woken up late.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR BREAKFAST?
Coffee and half a cup of intensely high-fiber wheat bran cereal with water.  (Then I flagellate myself — just kidding.)
ONE WORD THAT DESCRIBES YOUR MOOD IN THE MORNING?
Down.
WHAT GETS YOUR JUICES FLOWING?
Sitting and racking my brains.  I try to come up with all the possibilities for every aspect of my novel, for every scene I’m writing.  I make thorough lists of these possibilities.  I don’t just pick the first ones that come to mind, because they are usually less interesting than the ones that come to me as the list gets longer.
