S+ Stimulant: Henry Miller
Henry Miller (December 26, 1891 – June 7, 1980) was an American writer known for “breaking with existing literary forms and developing a new sort of ‘novel’ that is a mixture of novel, autobiography, social criticism, philosophical reflection, surrealist free association, and mysticism.”
“You can look at things all your life and not see them really. This ‘seeing’ is, in a way, a ‘not seeing,’ if you follow me. It is more of a search for something, in which, being blindfolded, you develop the tactile, the olfactory, the auditory senses —and thus see for the first time.” – Henry Miller

Henry Miller was also an avid water-colorist. He painted over 3,000 of them in his lifetime. Rarely selling them, rather trading them, or giving them to his friends.
