About

An online publication brought to you by Seymour Projects.

Seymour Magazine provides you with philosophical and psychological insights into the creative process. It also introduces you to a fascinating selection of iconoclastic individuals who shine a light on the diverse array of fields related to the Seymour Projects mission.

From 2011 to 2016, Seymour Magazine published new content on a weekly basis. At the start of 2017, we decided to press pause on our usual format. In the five years since the ‘zine’s inception, the world around us had changed rapidly — perhaps more rapidly than ever in the course of human history. When we began there were few platforms for renegade voices & ideas, now there are thankfully many.  So we ceased publication and re-envisioned this platform as a resource library. We hope you enjoy taking a dive into our pool.

Seymour Magazine didn’t follow trends. We focused on subjects that fascinated us and featured creative people whose efforts we admired. We hope their words and experiences will inspire you.

2024 Addendum:

We had hoped to keep this online magazine as a fully intact time capsule of a pivotal time in the history of Consciousness, but over the last decade we were unable to weather the costs of photo usage rights/penalties for use of certain vintage photos, so we’ve had to take down a number of images and two sections of the magazine (S+ Stimulants & A Case For) these were formatted like a blog and featured lots of historical images culled from the Internet. Needless to say it was never our intention to exploit image-makers; we created those sections for pedagogic and inspirational purposes during the ‘wild west’ early days of blogging when vintage images were widely being used (rightly or wrongly) on blogs free of charge.

Copyright note:

Seymour Magazine is an entirely not-for-profit inspirational project. All contributors participated graciously and all image rights for photos and artwork featured in our original content – interviews and essays were donated. Other (now deleted) sections contained certain vintage images that had been culled from the internet. We’ve done our best to remove them all in recent years, but a few might have slipped by us.

If you come across an image that belongs to you please let us know so we can credit you. Conversely, if you do not wish for it appear on this site, please email us and it will be promptly removed. Please do not take legal action, nor impose a fine without contacting us first. Just write a us a note. Our intentions are always pure and we work very hard to support the arts and are doing the best we can with limited resources. Thank you.
