Happy Booktober!

October traditionally being the most bookish of months … it must be something about the weather cooling that amps up the urge for a good read; we’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about our founder Melissa Unger’s novel Gag which was published in July 2014 by Roundfire Books.

Gag tells the tale of an average man who hasn’t eaten for fifteen years yet has suffered no visible ill-effects. The story which unfolds from this initial conceit explores a variety of topics including intimacy, appearance and self.

Those of you who have been following us from the start will know that the surprising and life-altering encounter she had with her subconscious while writing the book was the major impetus behind the creation of Seymour. Others can read a bit about that experience HERE

Beyond being a great read, Gag is powerful inspiration for those of you who have yet to realize your own creative aspirations. Melissa doesn’t mind us saying that she was 46 years-old when the book was published, proving yet again that as  George Eliot so wisely said: “It’s never too late be what you might have been.”
