Morning Glory: MICHAEL O’BRIANT

MICHAEL O’BRIANT is an artist.  Michael is currently exploring abstractions of natural themes by rendering elegant forest scenes from his imagination.  These compelling paintings, warmed by gold leaf overlays, reveal hidden animal & plant structures, as well as ancient patterns.  Inspired by images of Maori tattoo art, ancient Irish symbols and photographs from archaeological digs, Michael creates poignant organic works that shift with the changing light. Michael also recently co-founded Platform Studios in Chicago an artist-run space which currently offers figure drawing classes four days a week. The studio’s official launch as a platform for artists is slated for October 2011. Michael is represented by Thomas Masters Gallery in Chicago and Ernden Gallery in Provincetown.
