Painter, writer, sound poet, and performance artist Brion Gysin ignored the impositions of the status quo.

His permutation poems – like ‘Junk Is No Good Baby’ above – questioned the bases of communication and reality.

William Burroughs said Gysin was the only man he ever respected.
